Senior Community Centers of San Diego - Potiker Residence

Basic Information

Description of the Organization and Responsibilities

Senior Community Centers is a non-profit organization founded in 1973. Our mission is to provide quality and compassionate services for the survival, health and independence of seniors living in poverty. In 2003 we expanded our services to include permanent, affordable, supportive housing for seniors 62 and older by building 200 units of affordable housing. The residents of the Potiker Senior Family Residence are seniors who have had a history of difficulty maintaining stable housing and, in some cases, have been homeless. The support services located within the housing provide the safety net services needed to assist the most at-risk residents in maintaining stability. The Potiker Family Senior Residence has just been named as one of the nation's 5 best practice models by the Shelter Partnership.
